How pickup text messages work

Updated: 2026-10-07.

Traqmon is a check-in and pickup system used by tutoring centers. This page describes the text messages it sends, who receives them, how consent is collected, and how to stop them.

The software is supplied to your center. The relationship with you belongs to the center, which is why the center's name is the one in the message.

What the messages are

One kind of message: a notice that a child has finished their work and is ready to be collected.

Ada has finished at Fairfax Kumon. Confirm pickup:
https://api.traqmon.com/pickup/EXAMPLE-TOKEN

It carries the student's first name, the center's name, and a link the parent can use to say who is collecting the child.

There is no marketing, and the wording is not the center's to change. The message above is the only message the system sends. Centers cannot edit it, so a pickup notice cannot become an advertisement. There is no mailing list, no bulk send, no campaign tool, and no way to message anyone who is not a guardian of a student who has just finished a session.

Roughly one message per visit. A student attends twice a week, so a parent receives about two messages a week during term, and none when their child is not attending.

By the center, in person, at enrolment. A parent gives the center their mobile number on the center's own enrolment paperwork, so the center can contact them about their own child. The center keeps that paperwork. Numbers are never bought, rented or appended from any outside source.

Traqmon will not send a pickup notice until the center confirms consent. Before any notice can go out, the center's administrator has to agree to three statements in the software. Two of them, in full:

"I confirm my center has obtained appropriate consent from each guardian before their phone number is entered for automated notifications."

"I will honor any guardian's request to stop receiving texts."

The third records that obtaining consent is the center's own responsibility. Until all three are agreed, the software sends no pickup notices at all.

Who can receive a notice. A parent or guardian of a currently enrolled student at that center, whose number the center entered. A student who withdraws stops generating notices.

How to stop the messages

Reply with any of these words and the texts stop:

STOP · STOPALL · UNSUBSCRIBE · CANCEL · END · QUIT

Where the center uses an automated number, the reply is processed by the software without anyone having to act on it.

You can also just tell the center, and that works however your center sends its messages. Staff can remove your number or switch your notices off, and it takes effect at once.

Stopping is per center. Each center sends from its own number, so replying STOP to one center does not affect another. If your child attends two centers and you want both to stop, reply to each.

To start again, tell the center.

What we do with your number

It is used to send the notice above and for nothing else. It is encrypted, it is never sold or rented, and it is handed to a messaging provider only in order to deliver the message.

How long it is kept, which companies are involved in delivery, and how to ask about your data are all in the privacy policy.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply, as with any text message. Traqmon does not charge parents anything.
